Dogs Who Have Found Homes

Baron - male, between 4 - 6 years old, neutered, 29lbs, vaccinated, has had a full dentistry. Baron is fully housetrained, very mannerly in the home - nervous of cats. He can be very playful with other dogs and would suit going to a home with another eskie or dog his size. He loves playing with toys and balls. Likes car rides, and rides in a kennel very well in the car and is very quite. He must be given special attention when meeting strangers - if not given the proper amount of time to meet he will snap at the stranger - a firm and stern voice are all that he needs for discipline. He can be very soft and takes correction to heart.

Star - 5 - 6 year old spayed female - small (almost) toy size - up to date on vaccinations - fully housetrained and crate trained. This little girl is very overweight (17 pounds). She demands people food and is adjusting to her dog food diet. She loves walks on leash and car rides. She has "Reduced Pupilary Light Reflex" in her eyes (one eye worse than the other) - this means her pupils don't react to the light and objects approaching her face as quickly as they should and her depth perception is distorted. There is no cure or treatment needed. She has functioned for years with this and does remarkably well. She is a very healthy and happy little girl - would do well in a fully adult home - she can be possessive of food and toys and her people. She is very trainable and willing to please. VERY VERY SWEET GIRL WHO JUST WANTS TO BE LOVED.

Sidney - 1 - 2 year old spayed female - small standard size - up to date on vaccinations - 90% housetrained and fully crate trained. This girl is very energetic, athletic and demanding - she loves being with you (little separation anxiety) - loves to play with balls - go for car rides - walks on leash. She has typical eskie traits - she will bark at other dogs, strangers to your home, cats, but is very playful once she gets to know them - can be possessive of a favorite toy - she needs some basic training and needs to learn not to be so pushy. Sidney would NOT do well for someone's first dog or a family with young and/or small children - previous eskie experience would make this dog into a great companion. She would do well in flyball, agility and obedience as she is eager to please and very food and toy motivated.

Jackson - Male, neutered, approx. 6 yrs. old - vaccinated. Jackson is a mini eskie with issues and an attitude.  He is very excitable and has terrible tantrums...when he does and you prevent him from doing what he wants to, he will nip, though he's sorry afterwards.  He has also been very difficult to housetrain.  He will still mark inside and therefore wears a belly band in the house.  He needs a strict daily routine. In a quiet home with no children, he could be a wonderful companion. He loves to play and loves walks, though they can be a challenge because he is very reactive to other dogs and strange people. Jackson needs a very strong but also kind owner and would be best as the only dog in the home or with one other tough dog.  Jackson is a wonderful dog with a good heart but will require a lot of time and attention, much more than a "normal" person would be willing spend on a "normal" dog.

Portia and Bear

Portia - mini, female spayed eskie 8 1/2 years old - very affectionate and loving - likes car rides, cuddling on the couch - her best friend is Bear. Portia came to us initially from a puppymill bust back in 2003.

Bear - mini, male neutered eskie 6 1/2 years old - very friendly, very playful, loves cuddling and attention, likes car rides. He lost his eye due to injury - his best friend is Portia.

They are very cute together and enjoy each other's company. They stand up for each other when dogs come into their space. They are very obedient and they listen well to commands.

Portia and Bear must be adopted together - they have lived together since 2003 when adopted from our rescue program by the same person - unfortunately their owner passed away this summer.

good with cats
