Dogs Who Have Found Homes

Nikki - A five year old overweight mini female, spayed, who had to leave her home of 5 years.  She is very strong minded and likes her own way.  She will adjust to her new surroundings if she knows you are the top dog.  Needs some work on her weight, loves walks and being talked to.

Cindy - This 13 1/2 year old was given up due to illness in the family.  She still has a lot of love to give.  With some responsible care and help getting into better shape she could still be a lovely pet!

Sadie - Toy, born Nov. 1/01 (12 lbs. and overweight).  Spayed, vaccinated and vet checked.  She is fine with cats, loves people and sometimes gets possessive of her toys and food when other dogs come near.  Loves car rides and to cuddle on the couch.

Dakota - Dakota is a 2 1/2 year old spayed female. Standard size (25 lbs.) with a lovely, lovely temperament. Very affectionate, loves her toys, and definitely loves her food, thus a little over weight. She is good with children, cats and other dogs. Crate trained, and has some basic obedience skills. Very affectionate, almost starving for affection and enjoys all visitors. For a dog originally from one of the Misner puppy mill raids, this dog has a tremendous amount of love to give and years of happiness for any family. She is a joy to live with. She is spayed and up-to-date with vaccinations.

Steeler - Standard, approximately 2 years of age, Neutered, vaccinated and vet checked.  Housetrained, crate trained, loves his toys, people, other dogs and cats.  Knows some basis obedience commands, but doesn't walk well on a leash.

Hannah - Hannah is approx. one year of age, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked. She is a mini (15 lbs.) American Eskimo with lots of energy. She has her shy moments around men. She was a seizure by the THS and then placed with us because of her fearfulness. In our home environment she has excelled in attitude and confidence and loves to play with other dogs and her toys, she is slowly learning her manners in the dog games. She needs to learn some with the cats. She is very much on the skinny side. Hannah is crate and house trained.

Mickey -He's a tall, athletic young (2 years old?) standard who has energy to spare.  He has such enthusiasm for life, every day is a new adventure!  Like many very intelligent adolescents, he needs firm gentle guidance;  he accepts rules but will push to make sure you really mean it first.  Experience and a desire to continue on-going training are a must!  This guy would be AWESOME in the right hands!

Prince - Male, neutered 2 years old, UKC papers.  Very nervous with strangers, but once he gets to know you he is affectionate and very loving.  A very quite house dog who loves to play ball.  Housetrained, crate trained, and knows basic obedience.   He is an excellent dog around the house very clean and wouldn't even think to chew anything.  Can be very playful and loves a butt rub.  Socialization, time and trust would improve his fearfulness with strangers.

Angel - Mini, approximately 1 year of age (14 lbs.).  Spayed, vaccinated and vet checked.  She is fine with cats, people (once she gets to know you), and other dogs only when she is not confined to her crate).  Crate and house trained.  Loves toys, loves to sleep on the bed and knows how to dance and spin on her hind legs on command.  She is longing for that one on one contact with a new owner.  She was found wondering the streets of Brampton.

Casper - He's an extremely   cuddly dog with some issues that will require a strong loving experienced owner.   He's responding fairly well to the structure in his foster home, but will require ongoing work to overcome the lack of guidance in his first 4 years.

Pita - Neutered Mini Eskie - About 8 months old - LOVES people - Loves to be the center of attention!

Maggie-2 year old spayed female, an absolute love sponge!  (under assessment, will be available soon.)

Portia - 5 year old sweetheart was seized in the Waterford puppy mill bust.  She would love to spend the rest of her days in a quiet home with plenty of attention. Portia is now spayed & vaccinated and ready to go.

Garrett  -  No one wanted to adopt this 2 year old stray at the shelter he was in because he had a corneal ulcer which required surgery or removal of the eye. As far as we can tell, he was an outside dog, since he had a ring of matted and dirty fur where the chain that was constantly around his neck was... His tail and belly fur was also very matted. He is starved for affection and probably never had any luxuries in his life yet is still an absolute sweetheart. Showing him a cookie just makes him tremble with excitement. A chewy with cheese in it is heaven to him. He likes to cling to your leg with his front paws and put his head on your hip for affection. Quiet, quiet, so unbelievably quiet. Not heard him bark yet maybe due to the previous 'owner' and their 'dealing' with the barking...

UPDATE: Garrett is adjusting nicely to a normal doggie lifestyle! The vet looked at his eye while under the anesthesia to neuter him... There was no vision left in it and the ulcers are too far advanced to remove just for cosmetic reasons so, since the eye was painful to him when touched, the vet removed it and Garrett is recouping nicely!

Phoenix - Here's a great little guy that we fostered briefly.  He's now at Ann & Pete's.  He needs neutering and some basic training, so he's not quite ready to adopt yet, but feel free to check out Ann & Pete's Foster Home for Dogs web page for Phoenix in the near future!

Casper - ADOPTION PENDING Male Mini Eskie - Affectionate 5.5 months old. Not neutered yet. ok with cats and dogs. Will need experienced owner. A home without small children is preferred. Can you give this dog his forever home?

Buddy -  Buddy is now named Score.

OCT 2006 - Hi, Thought I'd send an update on Score. Within a few weeks of joining our family he began puppy class and has been actively training in various dog sports ever since. We started competing in some of them this past spring and I'm very pleased to let you know that he is now titled in Tracking, CARO Rally O and Flyball. He was also herding instinct certified last fall.

He's also been trialing in Obedience and currently has 2 NAMBR novice obedience legs and in Sept he earned 2 AKC Rally Novice legs. We hope to finish these titles in early 07. He begins trialing in CARO Rally Advanced in a couple of weeks. His agility attempts this summer weren't as successful but with some more experience I'm sure he'll do well at it also. To date all his qualifying Rally and Obedience legs have been with placements. CARO Rally a 1st and two 2nds, AKC Rally 1st and 3rd, Novice Obedience
1st and 3rd.

We've done some work on carting and while he has a very cute little cart, he's not yet ready to start pulling it.

Needless to say I've never regreted offering to transport him and taking up your offer to give him a try for a few weeks.

Jessie - Born July /02, spayed female, sweetheart. Jessie is a very high drive, and high energy eskie and would excel in a sports home. She has a high toy drive and is very food motivated. She has been introduced to flyball (jumps and ball work), a-frames, tunnels, superdog style and agility equipment. She is constantly willing to please and enjoys learning new things. She loves everybody and everything. Suited for a home with older children. She is good with other dogs and cats. A lovely dog with lots of love and happiness to give. Crate trained, housetrained, and vaccinated. Jessie will only be adopted to an approved home that can handle her energy level

Chance -  Chance as his name represents was given three "Chances". He came to us with a badly broken leg which has mended well and he now only walks with a limp. Special thanks goes to the Tears of Joy Animal Rescue and Caledon Mountain Veterinary Clinic who graciously, without hesitation, picked up the entire vet bill for the three surgeries that were required. With the leg now mended he is ready to go to his forever home. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, crate and house trained. He has an abundance of energy.  He is very playful, loves people and his toys and lets you know when you are not giving him enough attention. Chance is approx. 3 years old and is a mini eskie (19 lbs.).

Winston - What a cutie!  He's a 3 year old mini with lots of love to give.  He's *very* affectionate once he gets to know you (doesn't want to leave your side!) but is stand-offish with strangers.  He's quite submissive with other dogs and though he gets along well, he'd love to be the center of attention.

Scarlet - Just in - Check back for info

Kimmy - 1 yr. old spayed female, very sweet temperament, weighs only 17 lbs. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped and vet checked. This bundle of energy is very affectionate and loves attention. Physically she is 1 yr. of age but mentally she is only 6 mos. old. She is crated trained, loves playing with the other eskies and sometimes gets a little bossy.

Yukon - Mini Eskie - Adult female - 20+ pounds - About 5 or 6 years old - Spayed - Up to date on shots - Ok with people, kids & other dogs - She likes to play and have her butt rubbed - She knows a few commands like 'Sit' And 'Paw' - She will need some exercise as she is overweight. Can you give this dog her forever home? This very playful girl is also knows as "Wanda Waddlesworth".

Daisy - very sweet and loving 5 yr old female, weighs only 12 lbs. Needs a quiet, loving home. Someone willing to give her the special attention she deserves. She is spayed, up to date on vac. and house and crate trained. She loves car rides, cuddling on the couch and would prefer a home with no other dogs.
